We were thrilled to see the wedding of Claire & Craig Beattie being featured in the latest edition of The Scottish Wedding Directory. We had such a great time with Claire & Craig and their families. Photographing Leanne & Steve’s wedding was a huge joy for us. We’ve known Leanne for a few year now as we photographed the weddings of her two sisters, Valerie (at Hopetoun House) and Fiona (at Mansfield Traquair) where she was bridesmaid to both. This time the roles were reversed.
Jackie was with the girls whilst they prepared. Capturing the fun, anticipation, the emotions and the little details makes this one of Jackie’s favourite parts of a wedding day.
Alan joined Steve, his best men Ben & Jerry (who were very cool!) and ushers for their preparations and a sip of champagne. Ben demonstrated a unique method of opening the champagne…..
The elegant transport for the bridal party was provided by Ecosse Classic Wedding Cars.
St. Mary’s Star of the Sea in Leith is a hidden gem. A beautiful, bright church with a very warm welcome.
And yes, the sun did shine on Leith…..
The Signet Library’s Upper and Lower Libraries looked spectacular. Event Design and catering were by the team at Heritage Portfolio. Floral loveliness was supplied by Planet Flowers. Planet blogged more details of Leanne & Steve’s day here.
Whilst Leanne & Steve and their guests enjoyed coffee & cake in the Lower Library, the Upper Library was transformed for their evening celebrations.

We love photographing winter weddings. And Denise & Lewis’s wedding day was extra special as we’d photographed Denise’s sister Joanne’s wedding a couple of years previously at Hopetoun House, so we knew what a wonderful time everyone would have.
Once again, we were honoured to be invited back to capture another chapter in a family’s history. This was one of four occasions in the past year where we photographed the wedding of the sister of our previous brides. That makes us feel very happy! And this time it meant we were able to meet Denise’s little nephew James again…..
Denise’s dress, her shoes, jewellery and all of the bridesmaid’s dresses were from Edinburgh’s highly acclaimed Rachel Scott Couture. Denise says the service she received from Rachel was just excellent.
Denise & Lewis were married in the Harry Potter-esque surrounding of Lewis’s old school – Fettes College, in the school chapel. Then they celebrated with their guests at the stunning Mansfield Traquair, where Heritage Portfolio took care of them all. 
All the floral designs on the day, including the girls bouquets and the boys buttonholes were by Planet Flowers. And wait till you see the look they created at Mansfield Traquair!

Planet Flowers created a very impressive Valentine’s arrangement of floating roses, rose petals and floating candles.
We loved photographing Denise & Lewis’s wedding, we had great fun and were quite sad when the day was over. But then we had just as good a time showing them all of their pictures at their viewing and creating their beautiful album for them.
But the icing on the cake?….. These lovely words from Denise:
“From the minute Lewis and I got engaged there was no doubt in our mind who we wanted to photograph our wedding. The service that Jackie and Alan provided at my sisters wedding was so perfect that we wouldn’t have wanted anybody else.
