Susan & Phil’s Autumn Wedding at Hopetoun House

We were delighted to be asked to photograph Susan & Phil’s wedding day and were particularly looking forward to it as we knew so many of the people there – we’d previously photographed the weddings of two of Susan’s sisters. Such a huge compliment to be asked to cover this wonderful day too. On this occasion, the ceremony and reception were held at Hopetoun House. A venue we know particularly well as our studio is based there!

Susan and her bridesmaids started their preparations for the day, all together at Susan’s parents home. Jackie was there to capture the fun, excitement and anticipation….

Alan was on hand to photograph some of their morning too. It’s one of the great advantages of having both of us photographing your wedding – we can be in two places at once!

We were joined on the day by our brilliant colleages Steve & Stuart at Cherry Tree Films. Like us, they worked away quietly and unobtrusively.

We’ve had several comments on the wedding we feature in our latest advert in The Scottish Wedding Directory and on our Facebook profile picture, so we thought we’d show you some more here.

Lucy & Alan were married at one of Scotland’s top venues – the 5 ✭ Exclusively Yours – Dundas Castle.

Alan (the photographer) started the day with Alan (the groom) his best man, Dad and groomsmen for some lunch and a game of snooker in Dundas Castle’s billiard room. Before heading to get ready for the big event….

The combination of Planet Flowers and Lucy’s own attention to detail (many hand made by her and Alan), meant the Pavilion looked fabulous.

There was so much love and care taken by Lucy on all of these colorful and tasty treats, perhaps they deserve a whole blog post of their own?

Alex & Daniel’s Wedding at Mount Stuart, Isle of Bute

What better way to re-start our blog than with Alex & Daniel’s wedding. You can see our previous post of their Pre-Wedding Shoot here. We were particularly delighted to be asked to photograph Alex & Daniel’s wedding as we’d photographed Alex’s twin sister’s wedding a few years previously. This was one of four weddings we’ve photographed recently where we were invited back to photograph the sister of a previous bride – in two instances it was the 3rd sister. Alex & Daniel were married on the beautiful Isle of Bute at the stunning Mount Stuart. In typical west of Scotland style, the weather was “mixed” – mainly a mix of rain & wind!  But no matter as Mount Stuart has its own white marble chapel that can be reached without venturing outside. It felt like a real adventure, catching the ferry for the short sail across the Firth of Clyde to Rothesay on Bute.

As always, Jackie started the the day with the girls.

Alex’s hair was beautifully styled by Gail Rankin of Bespoke Wedding Hair.  And Alex’s faultless make-up was by Lucy Gourlay of LG Make-up. Lucy & Gail made a super early start to be at Mount Stuart for Alex.
